Target Audience

The Building Operator Certification Level II (BOC II) class is intended for experienced building professionals who have already completed BOC Level I or have equivalent knowledge and want to deepen their skills in advanced building system operation. The target audience includes seasoned building operators, lead maintenance technicians, facility managers, energy managers, and others responsible for optimizingbuilding performance. Participants typically work in schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, large commercial properties, or industrial sites, and want to expand their expertisein areas like energy conservation projects, HVAC system optimization, building automation, and resource management to further reduce costs, improve occupant comfort, and take on leadership roles in facilities operations.

The Course

The Building Operator Certification Level II (BOC II)course is an advanced training program for experienced building operators who want to deepen their abilityin managing complex building systems for maximum efficiency. It builds on BOC I by covering topics like advanced HVAC troubleshooting, electrical systems, building automation, water conservation, and energy conservation project planning. The course combines in-depth classroom learning with hands-on assignments to help participants apply advanced strategies to improvebuilding performance, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals.The course covers topics on each of the 7days:

  • Day 1 (virtual) – Building Operational Improvement with Scoping Tools, Part 1
  • Day 2 (face-to-face) – Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance
  • Day 3 (virtual) – Optimizing HVAC Systems with Controls
  • Day 4 (face-to-face) – Building Operational Improvement with Scoping Tools, Part 2
  • Day 5 (virtual) – Efficient Water Use in Buildings
  • Day 6 (face-to-face) – Building Commissioning and Demand Reduction
  • Day 7 (face-to-face) – Building Automation and Project Presentations
