سԹ has partnered with Watts Water Technologies in Franklin, NH to develop a custom “CNC Basics” training program for current employees interested in advanced manufacturing. This four-week class was held on-site at the Watts facility, which reduced employee travel and time away from the production floor.
The program, designed by Joseph Smith of سԹ, covers the basics of how to run a CNC machine properly and safely. In addition, this course presented practice in metrology, blueprint reading, and machine tool math. This pilot ran this summer and proved to be a success, attracting eight employees to the curriculum. From this course, these employees are now eligible to apply for operator positions at Watts.
